LILONGWE – As the increasing number of unemployed Malawian youth continues to rise, the country’s Muslim community has launched programs courtesy of the Islamic Zakat Fund (IZF), to equip them with the skills necessary to create an “independent society” for “future leaders” of the southern African nation.
“Unless, we create or employment opportunities for our youth, who are in the majority in the country, the future of Malawi is at stake. This program is a in the right direction.”“Since independence, the youth of Malawi have been considered to be future leaders, but sadly, there has never been much effort to empower them in this direction. We have therefore been compelled to roll off this initiative in response to the growing needs of the young people,” said Osman.
